Washing machine drum size innacurate?
I recently bought a Hoover Dynamic WDXOA485 8kg washer/dryer and I am somewhat concerned that the advertised 8kg drum size is inaccurate. I bought it as a replacement for my previous 8kg washer/dryer so I know how big an 8kg drum should look, yet the drum for this new machine looks significantly smaller, and can only take 8kg of washing if I literally cram the clothes in so tightly that the drum is jam packed meaning the clothes would not move at all during the wash, and I cannot fill it with more than 5kg if I am to ensure that the clothes have some movement during the wash.
I also recently tried to dye a sofa cover weighing 3kg in the machine and that was a total disaster with patches of un-dyed fabric where the water and dye clearly wasn't reaching the fabric. It was also unable to do a final spin which I am guessing was a result of not being able to balance the load. It has always been my understanding that an 8kg drum should be able to take 8kg of dry clothes with an adequate amount of space within the drum for the clothes to move which is most certainly not the case with this machine. Am I right in assuming that there is a problem with this machine?

Hello there. One of the problems with these extra large drum sizes is that they are often underloaded and then won't spin because the washer can't balance the load properly.
