Unable to remove washing machine motor

We have a Siemens machine (about 10 years old) and the brushes need replacing on the motor.

I am having difficulty in seeing how to remove the motor.

There are two bolts facing the rear of the machine and easy to get at and remove.

The rear of the motor appears to be supported by two sections at the rear with the photo showing one of them.

I have removed the front bolts but cannot see how to release the motor from the rear

There is no panel on the side of the machine to view the motor

Thanks in anticipation of help

Hello. Most washing machine motors are held in place by just a couple of bolts at the front. The motor is fitted over mounts on the outer drum. There are usually rubber fittings on the mounts or inside the motor brackets. This ensures that the motor fits tightly and snugly onto the mounts. Then the bolts are screwed into place. With the bolts removed you normally have to push the motor back to disengage it from the drum. If you are sure there is no 3rd bolt at the back then the motor just needs pushing off the brackets. If really tight you might try carefully using a plastic mallet.

Having a closer look at one of your photos it looks like your motor needs to come forward not push back? The plastic bits in front maybe need prising off?

The back motor bracket is commonly just located onto the drum bracket. It’s enough for the motor to be bolted on with the two front brackets.

Thank you for your reply Andy.

Really odd as I can't locate any other bolts at the rear of the motor but am still unable to get it to move from its location.

Will have another try today
