This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.
Samsung washer dryer taking water into dispenser during drying and leaving clothes warm but wet
- The problem
- A Samsung washer dryer, about 3 years old, was reported to take in water in short bursts at the start of and during the drying cycle. The water was seen entering through the soap dispenser drawer, and the load finished warm but still wet.
- Likely cause
- The discussion states that water intake during drying is normal for condensing steam, but it should go into the condenser chamber at the back, not through the dispenser drawer. The strongest supported diagnosis is that water is being directed through the normal fill route/valve during drying instead of to the condenser chamber. The exact faulty component was not confirmed.
- What fixed it
- No confirmed repair was documented. The accepted advice was to establish whether the water was entering from the normal front fill path or trickling into the rear condenser area, because only the latter is expected on a drying cycle. Exact repair not confirmed.
- Checks to try
- Observed water entering in 2-3 second bursts during drying
- Confirmed water was coming through the soap dispenser drawer
- Confirmed clothes were coming out warm and wet
- Advised to determine whether water enters from the normal front fill path or into the rear condenser chamber
Safety: Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

Hello Alan. Water is supposed to be taken in during drying although not normally into the soap dispenser drawer. It normally goes straight into the condenser chamber at the back. Are the clothes coming out warm and wet?

Yes water is coming in through soap dispenser drawer and the clothes are coming out wet and warm.
Thanks
Is the water coming in at the front like it does on wash and rinse or is it trickling at the back? As I said water should be going in on drying cycles as that’s how the steam is condensed but it should only go into the large plastic condenser chamber at the back.
If it’s suddenly started taking in water from the normal water valve it’s a weird fault. Does this article help Laundry hot and steamy on drying cycle
