Hi there. I have an old 2004 Bosch clasixx 1200 washing machine which leaks only on the rinse/freshen up setting. I have looked at the two water input valves and everything there seems dry. Water just pours out from underneath. But only on this setting. Normal wash is ok. Many thanks.

Hi. The first explanation that springs to mind is there is a hole or crack in the plastic outer drum that is high enough that water only leaks out significantly when the water level is at a certain height.

The only other explanation i can think of is that water enters the washing machine via a different route on this specific wash cycle but I can’t think why that would be the case.

Don’t take the drum out. That’s a massive job and may be unnecessary. If the front comes off examine the front of the drum.

It shouldn’t be possible for a washing machine to leak badly but only on one wash cycle unless that wash cycle does something different such as higher water levels or maybe a spin burst where it spins with water still in the drum forcing it all over the place.

Thank you Andy for your advice. Yes I thought this must be a different route but checked the input water valves which feed the soap dish and no leaks. The water doesn't seem any higher on this setting compared to normal wash so not sure about crack on plastic drum. I cannot see any leakage marks, but I haven't taken the drum out as yet.
