Hi there let, would you be able to recommend us a washing machine?

Let me explain our current set up

Washer 9kg indesit innex 6 years old now making loud noise on spin i suppect bearings gone. We have a 4 appliance plan with D&G and engineer coming out on monday 6th. Im hoping he will write it off due to sealed drum.

If he writes it off then hopefully insurance will replace like for like. If not we will buy new

Heres our problem... not sure if we would want to have same washer machine again. But its what to buy next time??

Ive been looking and with a budget about £300 and sales on, hotpoint zanussi and beko are the 3 that pop up on the web

(Im ruling out hoover group due to bad experience with our dryer been repaired 6 times in 7 years with same problem cutting fuseboard electric out heater element in back replace 5 times

D&G not offering us a replacement dryer, i do wonder whats the point of insurance. next time its breaks down which will be soon we will buy a new one hopefully of the same brand as the new washer we decide on)

Anyway back on topic

Ive always liked hotpoint used to have the full graphite set of appliances. Washer and dryer was good but the frost free ff was total garbage. I am concerned about the bad press with hotpoint group catching fires so holding back slightly which is shame cos i like the nm10 944 which looks lovely and has some good cycles that take full 9kg load. And i like the steam idea

Next that pops up is zanussi lindo300. I like the look of the aquafall idea showering from above. Ive heard zanussi is reliable. But reviews complain about cycle times being long.

Lastly is beko.. with the aquatec which to me seems a copy of zanussi. And also has steam which looks a copy of the hotpoint. But cant say ive heard good things about beko reliability with inlaws calling them the skoda of the appliance world (i assume when skodas was rubbish lol) also cant seem to find out cycle lengths.

Basically in a nutshell want a 9/10kg washer thats reliable with decent 40 cotton and 60 cotton lengths. (We dont believe in 30 washes and quick washes) for about 300quid.

Thank you

Personally I would not buy any Hotpoint or Indesit appliances. They have proven that they just aren’t good enough quality and too many have proven to be dangerous. I would look at AEG, Electrolux, or even Zanussi or Bosh.

Hi. Any brand of washing machine that I'm aware of does not make their high end models significantly better quality. Sometimes they are exactly the same as their basic models. The "high end " models just have more features, bugger drums, faster spins, more options. If you want a better quality washing machine you need to move up to an actual high end brand. I explain this in more detail here Is a more expensive washing machine a better one?

If you just need a cheap machine go for a basic Bosch or Zanussi.
