New machine leaving tiny dark stains

Hi, I have just had a new washing machine installed by the engineers.

Some of my clothes are coming out with tiny circular stains only a few millimetres in size.

The stains are black or very dark blue like ink. One Tshirt came out with 2 of the stains right next to each other. Another Tshirt only had one stain.

I have washed other items that have had no stains.

Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hello Ray. It's very unusual for a brand new washing machine to be faulty, especially like that. Did the manual advise to put the washing machine on a wash cycle empty for the first time? Is the plumbing new? Is it OK now or still doing it?

Hi thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I ran it at a 60 temp wash empty, the wash took a few hours.

The plumbing isn't new. I will be running alot of washes over the next few days to see if it's still doing it.

Were the holes the same size as the holes in the drum?

Yes, I would say the stains were around the same size as the holes in the drum

See the thick rubber seal that the door shuts against. Is it normal for that to sit full of water that doesn't drain away?

Aye they are often poorly designed and retain water but make sure the small holes aren’t clogged with limescale or gunge.
