LG F1480RD Issue - Clicking relay
Hi there,
I have the above washer/dryer that has recently packed up after showing some Power failure (PF) warnings.
The washing machine died and I removed the main board and found a blow transistor, so I have fitted a new Main PCB and now a Relay on the PCB just clicks constnatlly. Any ideas on what might need doing next? could the controller board affect it?
I have had a good search on the forums, and not had much luck finding an answer.
Thanks for your help!

Hello there. If you found a blown transistor and replaced it you may have only fixed a part of the problem. What caused the transistor to blow in the first place? And also was anything else blown that you haven't detected? Those are the questions that spring to mind. As white goods engineers are never trained in electronic I have very little knowledge of transistors and capacitors etc and certainly not repairing PCBs. The white goods industry is always just replaced PCBs and never repaired them. Very wasteful I know but that's how it's always been. The only thing I can suggest is that you maybe send the board for testing at somewhere like QER and ask them what is likely to blow that particular transistor. I would be wanting to know is it something that just can happen, is it a power surge, or could it be another component such as the motor in the washing machine that has blown it?
