Miele W2662wps washing machine, I get a faulty buzzer on 1 of my setting (call Techincal service) on cotton 40°, all the other settings seem to be working, please can anyone give me any ideas as to what the problem maybe, Thanks Mal.

Hi Mal,
If it only happens on Cotton 40° and the other programmes run normally, that usually points to a fault being triggered at a particular stage of that programme rather than a complete machine failure. It could be heating-related, water level related, or a programme/control issue.
Try these checks:
1. **Run a close test on Cotton 40°** Start the programme empty if possible and note exactly when it stops or buzzes: - straight away - after filling - when it should start heating - during rinses - at spin That timing is very helpful for narrowing it down.
2. **Check water fill and pressure** Make sure the tap is fully on and the inlet hose/filter isn’t partially blocked. Some programmes use different water levels or fill patterns, so a marginal fill problem may only show on one cycle.
3. **Consider a heating fault** Cotton 40° will rely on the heater and temperature sensing. If the machine fills and tumbles but faults when it should warm up, the heater, NTC sensor, or wiring could be suspect.
4. **Check for drainage issues** Clean the pump filter and make sure the drain hose isn’t kinked or partially blocked. A slow drain can upset only certain programmes.
5. **Try a reset / compare similar cycles** Switch off, leave a few minutes, then retry. Also test another 40° wash if available. If only Cotton 40° fails repeatedly, the programme selector/control module may be at fault.
Please isolate the appliance from the mains before inspecting any internal parts. If checks don’t reveal anything obvious, a qualified appliance engineer would be best, especially for any live electrical testing.

Safety first — read before actioning advice
Never work on a live appliance
Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.
Never attempt gas work
By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.
Watch for sharp edges
Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.
Water appliances can leak
Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.
Know your limits
If you're not confident testing or working inside the appliance, STOP and call a professional.
