Eco Bubble makes loud whirring noise just after start of cycle
This issue has been causing me a headache and already cost £60 call out for an engineer who simply said there is no fault. This left me a dispute with the company I booked the engineer with.
Basically, my Eco Bubble makes a loud whirring noise just after the start of a cycle.
Example. Daily Wash is for 1 hour 2 minutes, the noise will start at approx 58 minutes and run for about 10 minutes.
As a general rule, we look after the machine. Descale regularly, run the eco drum clean each time it's requested and clear the filter.
My investigations thus far:
No noise when:
- Spin only.
- Rinse & spin.
- On watering entering.
- When draining.
- Turning drum by hand.
Worth noting:
- Water still gets hot.
- Noise started after machine ran a cycle on hottest day of the year. (in hindsight shouldn't done this)
Only thing I can think of is that it's what ever Samsung has in the machine that accounts for the "Eco Bubble", the aerator. I assume some kind of pump.
If anyone can suggest what the issue could be or if my suspicions are correct, I'd appreciate it muchly. If anyone can name the part that's playing up that would also be appreciated as I cannot for the life of me find any reference to the "Eco Bubble" part anywhere!
Many thanks in advance.

It's hard to tell from a recording, especially such a short recording, but it doesn't sound right for sure. It could be a secondary pump. Unfortunately with noises there's no magic science behind working out what is causing it. If the noise is present it's a question of taking off the top and the back panel and working out where the noise is coming from. Our ears are pretty good at locating the position of sounds. It's obviously potentially dangerous though so ideally an engineer should do it. I presume he didn't hear the sound?

and in there lies my argument with the booking company.
How bizarre. The statements there's nothing wrong it's normal and may need a new pump can't both be true..

Oh he heard it alright. His statement at the time was "that's normal" I argued well a week ago it wasn't making that sound. Was told not to worry about it. When I got the receipt it stated on there 'pump making noise might need replacing'. On trying to get engineer back no answer, took it up with company that handles the booking and nothing. Grrr.
The video was 30 seconds long but exceeded the file size limit. Will try record again but as an audio file to get maximum time.
Confident in opening it up to explore. Will try once I can find some time. The terrace galley kitchen doesn't offer much space!
Many thanks.
