Can I use a platform or pedestal to raise height of washing machine?
My wife and I have narrowed the huge array of options for washing machines to Miele. This is mainly for the reliability, water and power efficiency of the machines.
My wife is concerned that as we are getting a bit older and that the machines are designed for at least 20 years life expectancy, how do we raise the machine to ease the stress on our ageing bones and muscles.
Is it possible to do, will it affect the warrantee?

Raising a Miele washing machine on a pedestal/platform
- The problem
- The question was whether a Miele washing machine can be raised to make loading easier as the owners get older, and whether doing so would affect the warranty.
- Likely cause
- No appliance fault was reported. The issue was an installation and accessibility query about safely increasing the machine height.
- What fixed it
- The accepted reply referred to a product said to raise the washing machine by 5 cm and stated it should hold the machine securely and safely. The strongest recommendation was to contact Miele directly to confirm suitability and any warranty implications. The exact product details and any final purchase or installation were not confirmed.
- Checks to try
- Considered an accessory claimed to raise the washing machine by 5 cm
- Advised to telephone Miele for guidance on suitability and warranty
Safety: Any platform or pedestal should hold the washing machine securely and safely. Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

Thanks for that useful link. Unfortunately a picture isn't available (and it's not cheap) but it claims to raise the washing machine by 5 cm (about 2 inches) It doesn't seem much but it might make a bigger difference than you'd expect. It should hold the washing machine securely and safely. I would take James' advice and telephone Miele about it as they are usually very helpful.
