Are quicker wash times ok?

I have a Bosch Nexxt 700 series model WFMC6401UC and was wondering is there any faster way to wash than the quick wash??? The regular wash is 45 mins a load and the quick is 30. Sometimes I don't have 30 mins per load with 5 kiddos!

Thanks for your help!

30 minutes is extremely quick and meant only for very lightly soiled laundry. Rinsing and spinning will take up at least 20 mins, so they will hardly be being washed at all. This is fine for just freshening something up, or for outer garments that may have just been worn once in winter (no sweating), but not good enough for most laundry.

Presumably you must be content with the wash results, or you wouldn't use the quick wash, but I've come across many people that wash all their laundry on quick washes, and their washing machines suffered a fatal build up of grease and slime.

A regular maintenance wash on a high temperature (as described here - Causes of grease, slime, black mould and smells in washing machine ) would definitely be advisable.

A better answer for you would be a larger drum (at least 7Kg) so you can wash much more at once.

Yes that does seem ludicrously quick Andy. There is no way on earth could it possibly heat the water up from cold to 40° and then do even one rinse and one spin in that time. Not unless by any chance it had hot and cold fill, combined with an intelligent fill control system that could ensure that the water was almost 40° at the start. I don't know of any washing machine that has that capability.

The only possible use for such a quick wash cycle is if you put on a shirt and went down to the pub for a pint. There's no smoke, it's not hot, so no sweating - and then you come back home 3 hours later and want to wash the shirt again before using. It would still be a waste though as in those circumstances I personally wouldn't think it needs washing at all, and would quite happily just put it back in my wardrobe 🙂

Haha my samsung does a quick was in only 15minutes and can set temp to 40'c don't ask how?

Heat up to 40'c, do 2 rinses, and a spin ... in 15minutes!

Obviously only like 2kg max you are supposed to fill it up to (it has a 9KG drum) and stuff thats very lightly soiled .

Hotpoint advert keeps showing up on my facebook timeline about 30minutes full 9kg drum load!

I would say we wash our clothes in our samsung about 1hr10 on 40'C and do 60'c on 1hr30 full loads and use dettol laundry cleanser regularly and do a 70'c maintenance cycle when the washing machine tells us (after 60 washes I think it is or once a month).
