Hiya Andy. If you were to advise someone what cycle to use for Silk , what wash cycle would you choose?

Our washing machine has a Delicates cycle and a Wool cycle but I cannot see a 'Handwash' cycle or a cycle for silk items. The wife put her silk blouses on cottons 30'c 400 spin and its snagged threads, got holes in them, and ruined her silk tops , now she is worried to put any more silky tops like that in the machine now.

thanks

Hi Andy. Exactly what does it say on the silk item's wash labels?

Some items say hand wash only. Some say do not spin, and to flat dry only, and so on. Essentially you have to go on the wash label, but so many people never read them 😊

i dont really know I will check next time she has a silk top in the wash bin - do you recommend they should always be washed by hand? - although when she used to put them in the older Hotpoint Washing machine they did not get snagged or holes in that one, even when put on a 20'c 400rpm cotton wash
