Dettol Laundry Sanitizer Liquid
What is your knowledge on this Dettol laundry Sanitizer Andy? - and at what stage would you (if you used it) add it to the wash?
Dettol claim on the label that it works in low temperature washes to even kill germs in low temperatures , so that would have made me think that if you were washing at 15/20/30'c you would add the sanitizer to the wash cycle .... but getting in touch with Dettol they told me that it should be added INSTEAD of the fabric softener .... so put in the fabric softener compartment in the detergent drawer in place of the fabric softener.
if you were using it , at what stage of the wash would you be adding it to for it effectiveness ?

Hi Andy. Yes I agree, if it kills germs why not add it to the main wash and then you can use fabric softener as normal. I would imagine with it being liquid it’s difficult to add it during the wash so they just say to add it via the fabric softener.
A potential problem with that is that the rinses take in more water, so the product will be more diluted. Plus the drum doesn’t agitate as much and for as long on the final rinse so the product won’t have as much time to work and get all over the laundry.

thank Andy.
I would have thought the whole point of fabric softener as well is that it cuts down on static as well as softening the clothes - so if this is to be used instead of softener then you are missing out on the features of using softener surely?
also I see they have a laundry sanitizer and laundry Cleanser ... and i cannot make out if they are both the same thing or what?
and the laundry has 'additive' written across the top ... but if you are suppose to use it instead of fabric softener , then it wouldn't be an additive
all seems very confusing for the consumer
