Smoke started coming from the drum after a load of washing, removed the back cover belt fine , black over back cover. Brown wire had seized up and fell off. What and how could this of happened

2 months out of warranty machine only one year old, fixed 2 times. Once for smoke they replaced door rubber worked fine. Second because they hadnt connected the pipes properly and water leaked everywhere and faulted the electrics. They replaced the control panel.

Thanks

The wires only burn like that if there is a poor connection, which causes micro sparks. Either the amp tag wasn't tightly fitted to the wire or to the heating element. The part of the brown wire that's baked hard would need cutting away and a new 13 amp tag needs fitting. The wire may need pulling through the loom to make up the lost length. The wire would need to not be pulled tight, or subject to any stress or strain when the drum bounces around.

The black on the back of the inspection panel could just be dirt and bits of rubber from the belt.
