Hoover Wdm120 Washer Dryer Dryer Not Drying
Hi. On tumble dry, the drum turns but the clothes aren't drying. They come out still damp and cold. Any help would be much appreciated.

You can unplug the washing machine and take off the lid. Check for a resettable TOC. It's a small round, button-like device, with 2 wires on it. All the dryer parts are on the top of the tub. If there is a small rod in the center of the TOC you may be able to reset it by pressing it down and it will click if it's been cut out.
If not, you would need a continuity test meter to check the continuity of the toc's, stats and heater on the dryer section.

It's possible it was something to do with overloading. Washer dryers can only take small loads on the dryer side. ( Related: Which is the best - a combined washer-dryer or separates? ) If it happens again, there may be further investigation needed, but hopefully it wont.
If the TOC trips out again then there's likely to be something causing it which should not be ignored. TOC stands for thermal overload cutout, and is the part that stops a washer dryer catching fire through overheating. It's a vital part that should never be bypassed.
Common causes for the TOC on a washer dryer cutting out are -
Too many clothes in drum (a washer dryer will typically wash more laundry that it's capable of tumble drying)
No cold water supply to the condenser compartment (usually a faulty valve)
The washer dryer fan isn't running (note on some Zanussi washer driers the dryer fan doesn't start running for several minutes but the vast majority should run immediately)
Buy washing machine and washer dryer parts

There are two of these TOC's with little buttons in the middle of which the front one clicked when I pressed it.
Why would this have tripped out?
