We have had a ariston washing machine for a long time now and has been very reliable only had to put in new bushes but it is started to stop before the cycle is complete so we went to currys and decided to buy the ariston a1637 but was put off by the salesman telling us that ariston is now rubbish as it has been took over and advised us to get either a bosch or miele we have a bosch 28465 in mind what does anyone reccomend as my wife likes the ariston , thanks jonno

Sounds like a good salesman to me. If you don't want to go to the expense of the Miele, Bosch are OK. Also consider AEG and Siemens.

With reference to Bosch. When I was looking for as integrated washing machine-I have posted a note about trying to decide about Neff- I was told by a salesperson in a major store to be VERY careful about Bosch.I was told that there are different qualities with the Bosch label as some have been made in Spain or Italy-can't remember which- and these are much inferior to those made in the past. I was told that you should look for GB after the name to ensure that the machine is not made in these countries.
