Hello

New to forum so hello All.

I'm looking to buy a new Bosch washing machine. I have norrowed down to the series 6 washing machine. From what I've read the difference between these machines is one has I DOS system which uses just the right amount of detergent for each wash and the other doesn't have it. I reality how well does this system work or is just a nucence and I am better off with the one that doesn't have this option?

Thanks

I have no direct experience with these DOS systems but I instinctively do not like them. They add extra complexity and therefore more parts to go wrong, and of course they will cost more. But, I do not see the point of them and they all use liquid detergent which I dislike too. Liquid detergent has historically contributed to dirty and smelly washing machines as they apparently cannot contain bleach they tend to cause a greasy coating. There's nothing wrong with putting your own detergent in as we have done for 60 years or more. But maybe I'm just behind the times and in a bit of a Luddite 🙂
