Hoover Quattro Ws1300 Fails To Fast Spin
Fitted a new kitchen at the weekend. Moved washing machine 1 metre to left and replumbed it in. Once replumbed I put in a load of washing. At end of cycle there was no fast spin. The drum spun slowly in one direction, then the other but didn't pick up speed and then it just stopped. The program dial just moved to the end of the cycle with no fast spin.
The slow spin setting doesn't work either. There appears to be a little water left in the washing machine and the door won't release. My childrens school uniforms are stuck in there and I would like to know how to solve this problem!
Many thanks.

Hoover Quattro WS1300 would not spin after being moved and replumbed
- The problem
- After the washing machine was moved about 1 metre and replumbed, it would not do either slow or fast spin. The drum only turned slowly back and forth, then the programme advanced to the end without spinning. A little water remained inside and the door stayed locked.
- Likely cause
- The drain hose had been connected to a blanked-off waste outlet, so the machine could not drain. Because water remained in the machine, the spin cycle did not proceed.
- What fixed it
- Check the new plumbing connection for a blocked or blanked-off waste outlet. In this case, the blanked end on the new pipe connection was cut off, allowing the machine to drain normally again.
- Checks to try
- Reset onto spin again and it still would not spin
- There was water left in the machine and the door would not release
- When attempting to drain it, a blanked-off connection was found on the end of the drain pipe
- After removing the blanked end, the machine drained

If you've tried resetting it onto spin again and it still wont spin, then try the advice here - Washing machine won't spin or drum won't go round
Using the advice in the last part of the above link ( Washing machine won't empty water ) you should be able to get the door open and the clothes out.

Many thanks for your help. When we went to try and drain the washing machine we discovered that our kitchen fitter had fitted a new connection on the end of the pipe and it was blanked off - so the water could not get out!! Once we'd cut the end off, the washing machine could drain and it's now working perfectly.
I've been called out to jobs where this has happened several times. It really foxes you at first because you don't expect such a silly mistake to have been made. Thanks for posting. Although relatively rare, it's something people should bear in mind when moving to a different house or after a fresh plumbing-in of a washing machine. People sometimes do connect the drain hose to a blanked off drain outlet under the sink.
