After How Many Washes Should You Clean The Inside Of Your Washing Machine

I have a brand new washing machine and i want to keep it clean and running as efficiently as possible, I am going to only use Ariel Bio Powder with Actilift as it seems to get very good reviews, it`s not cheap i bought some today, a fifty wash at lidl is £9.99 for a 42 wash, at Morrisons it`s £12.49 for a fifty and at Asda it`s only £8.00 for a fifty so guess where i bought it from

After how many washes should you do a service wash to clean the inside of your washing machine, most of the information i have read say every month, but should it not depend on how many washes you do a week and how hard your water is.

I only do one wash a week and my water is soft, so a maintenance wash after only four washes seems like overkill.

What is the average number of washes a week does a "normal" family get though to have to clean your machine monthly?

Thanks

John.

We have only very slightly hard water. We wash every day. I do a maintenance wash only every several months when I remember but we've never had any problems with grease, slime and black mold or limescale. People who do will need to do a maintenance wash much more often. As you point out it very much depends on individual circumstances..
