HI

I have an Ariston washing machine and there is something stuck in the filter. Its a Margarita 2000. I have snapped the plastic handhold/ handle that you use to twist the filter out. Its really jammed in and I noe cant get enough grip on the filter in order to twist it out. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this out, anyone else been daft enough to do this ,any tips?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Ian

I've had cases where the filter appeared to be jammed and wouldn't come out. It proved to be an under wire from a bra or another obstruction that was entangled in it and prevented it turning to screw out. I had to remove the hose leading into the pump and retrieve the obstruction from there.

If the filter is broken you may be able to get one although it might not be easy to get spares for it. What is the actual model number?

It's difficult to know without being able to see it Sara. If it's a screw fit it probably relies on a plate at the back squashing the rubber to make the filter stay in and be water-tight as you screw it so you need to make sure that's happening.

Hi,

I have a hoover HSDw 126 washer dryer and I am having trouble pushing the filter back in. Firstly, it was very hard to screw it out. I cleaned out the blockage (a square bit of fabric) and when I came to put it in it won't go back in, it feels really hard. Also, the cover bit has come off from the actual filter and went I put them back together, the cover turns but doesn't seem to have a firm grip on the filter to turn it as well.

Have I broken it or is it that something is stuck still inside? I can't see anything in there, however..

Thanks

Sara

Thanks for your reply

I managed to carefully chisel out the center of the filter cap, move the blockage a 50p and then unscrew the rest of the filter. Phew a very annoying task. I bought a replacement filter online and it arrived the next day. So thanks for you help but managed to sort it.
