hello, just wanted to ask a question about what happened to my washing machine...i am from usa and just realized this is a uk forum but it is the only one i have come across....just the other day my washing machine (Gibson Heavy-Duty Extra Large Capacity Model#-GWX433RHS0) started making funny noises then started squealing and smoking and now it will not spin...pulled the cover off, and the belt is fine because that was my first thought of what happened due to the squealing...wondering what else may be the issue with it, you cannot even spin the bucket by hand now. i know nothing about appliances, someone give me your wisdom please.

It sounds like something has seized up or jammed. It could be the motor, the drum bearings or something stuck inside the drum. I would have thought it would need an engineer to look at it.
