Washing Machine Won't Rinse

Hi there,

I'm hoping you can solve my problem. Since last week, the washing machine won't rinse. It needs to manually be advanced to spin to reach the end of the cycle. I also noticed today that no cold water is filling into the main wash tray (tray 2), i.e. a 30 degree wash was scalding hot and a cold wash doesn't work at all - no water.

This led me to believe it could be the cold water valve. However, the machine does a cold pre-wash... We have hot and cold feeds to the washing machine and it has a two way cold water valve.

Is it possible that the valve could work for the prewash (tray 1), but not the main wash (tray 2) or could the pipe to tray 2 simply be blocked? When I took the plastic tube thing (from the valves to the soap drawer) off and poured water into this, it came out of both cold water holes so this seems fine.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Cheers,

Mark

I have some advice on washing machine not taking in water which may be helpful if all or just one water valve isn't letting water in. The cold water valve on hot and cold fill machines is often a double valve so one side can fail leaving the other working.
