The stone from my engagement ring has fallen down the gap between the door seal and drum. I have already looked at the filter and even done a couple of loads to see if it could he flushed out but no luck at all. Please help

If you've done loads since, did you put the drain hose into a bucket and monitor the water coming out? Otherwise the stone could well have been pumped through into the waste water pipe depending on how big it is. If it's not in the sump hose or pump filter it's either been pumped away or potentially could be somewhere inside the tub but it would need stripping down to see. It depends on how valuable it is as to what extent you will be prepared to go to in order to try and find it.

If desperate you would need to check inside the machine or get it stripped down by a trustworthy engineer and/or check the plumbing that the water pumps into if you allowed it to run through a load after with the pipe still connected to the waste water drain system.

What kind of filter has the washing machine got? Do you think the stone could have passed through it? The filters often have a small grid which won't let large obstructions through. This article gives tips on how to retrieve obstructions from the drum

It's quite a large stone and quite rare too. I'm really starting to panic now..I'm gonna be in so much trouble. Thankyou for your advice..could it have been flushed down the waste pipe given its large size?
