Hotpoint Aquarius Wd420 Wont Fill - Leds Flash
Hi
Can anyone help. My hotpoint Aquarius starts, the door is locked but the 'door locked' light does not come on, water goes into the detergent drawer but then the crease hold button and on off button flashes and no water goes into drum and it doesn't turn. It makes a noise for about 5 mins as if water is going in but it doesn't. It then stops making a noise and the buttons still flash.
Any help will be appreciated
thanks

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.
Hotpoint Aquarius WD420 not filling, flashing LEDs indicate fault code
- The problem
- Hotpoint Aquarius WD420 starts and locks the door, but the door locked light does not illuminate. Water appears to enter the detergent drawer, yet it does not go into the drum and the machine does not turn. It makes a filling-type noise for around five minutes, then stops, while the Crease Hold and On/Off lights continue flashing.
- Likely cause
- The strongest supported diagnosis is that the flashing lights are indicating a specific fault code, which would identify the possible cause. A failed main PCB was suggested by one reply, but this was not supported by diagnostic evidence in the thread.
- What fixed it
- Identify the exact flashing light pattern by numbering the LEDs from left to right or top to bottom and use that to determine the relevant fault code before proceeding. The exact repair was not confirmed in the discussion.
- Checks to try
- Observed that the door locks at start-up
- Observed that the door locked light does not come on
- Observed flashing Crease Hold and On/Off lights
- Observed water going into the detergent drawer but not into the drum
- Observed a filling-type noise for about five minutes before stopping
- Advised to count which LEDs are flashing to derive the fault code
Safety: Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

The lights flashing are giving a specific error code which will indicate the possible causes of the fault. Error codes are indicated by flashing lights but the fault codes are not listed by name, only light 1, light 2 or LED 1, LED 2 etc. You need to report which number the lights are. Count from left to right or top down depending on how they are displayed. Full details here -
