Hoover Ultima 7 Oph716Df - Won't Start.
Hello..
My Hoover Oph 716 DF has recently stopped working. Basically when the start button is pressed nothing at all happens..
Usually a led lights up when the start button is pressed or flashes if the door isn't closed properly..
Machine has power as display is still lit.. Other buttons still function as normal.
I tried dismantling the machine to get to the buttons to see if I could try swapping them around but they're all soldered directly to the circuit board,,
I've also tried unplugging/re-plugging in all the connectors on the circuit board but no joy there..Same with the interlock.,
No error numbers are showing up on the display.
Machine is 2 years old.
Any suggestions as to what I can try next?
Thanks in advance,

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.
Hoover Ultima 7 OPH716DF intermittent no-start with display powered
- The problem
- Hoover Ultima 7 OPH716DF sometimes would not start when the Start button was pressed. The display remained lit and other buttons still worked, but the usual Start LED did not light or flash and no error code was shown. The fault became intermittent, as the machine started working again temporarily and then failed again.
- Likely cause
- Most strongly supported diagnosis was an intermittent fault with the Start button or control panel button switch. This was suggested because power was present, other controls responded, and the no-start condition centred on the Start button.
- What fixed it
- No confirmed repair was documented. The accepted advice was that the Start button on the panel could be faulty. Exact repair was not confirmed in the discussion.
- Checks to try
- Display lit with machine powered
- Other buttons still functioned normally
- No error numbers shown on the display
- Connectors on the circuit board were unplugged and re-plugged
- Interlock connections were checked/re-plugged
- Start button still gave a small click
- Fault observed to be intermittent
Safety: Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

Does the start button feel different to how it used to be? Or different to the others? It could be the button on the panel is faulty.

Well typically it's started working again by itself.. must have decided it wanted a xmas break!
Spoke to soon.. It's not working again... anybody got any clues?
The buttons are soldered onto the circuit board so I can't swap them around or anything unfortunately.. It still gives a small click like normal..
It is working again at the moment although somewhat intermittently.. very strange..
Intermittent faults are a right pain. If it does it again try this article - washer won't start
