What temperature does bedding need washing at?
My Panasonic Bedding Program has a maximum temperature of 40C. I wonder if they were drunk when they designed it. Bedding has to be washed at 60C minimum to kill all the nasty stuff?

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.
Bedding programme limited to 40C on Panasonic washing machine
- The problem
- The user queried why the Panasonic Bedding programme only allowed a maximum of 40C and was concerned that bedding should be washed at 60C.
- Likely cause
- No appliance fault was identified in the discussion. The issue described was the programme design limiting the Bedding setting to 40C.
- What fixed it
- No repair was advised or confirmed. The user chose to return the Panasonic and buy another machine, first considering Siemens and then deciding on a Samsung. The later comment indicates the Samsung bedding programme also had a 40C maximum, so the original concern appears to relate to programme design rather than a specific defect.
- Checks to try
- Confirmed the Panasonic Bedding programme had a maximum temperature of 40C
- Compared replacement machines by spin speed and programme options
- Observed the Panasonic made a loud turbine-like washing sound
- Observed the Samsung was much quieter

Nice article.
I have decided to return it and get a Siemens with 1400rpm for the same price. The Panasonic has 1200rpm.
Decided for a Samsung. Nice machine with lots of program options. It plays a nice tune when the wash is finished too.
It's much more silent than the Panasonic. The Panasonic had a terrible sound, almost like a turbine when it washed.
Has to be an asian thing. This machine has also 40C as max for the bedding program.
