Replacing Armature In Motor?
Hi Guys
I have just found this site.
I need to repair a Bosch WFF2001Gb/1 machine. The motors armature has blown. I don't want to buy the whole motor at the prices indicated online( almost the cost of a new machine) so the armature/rotor replacement is the best idea.
Bosch say they don't do them and I can't find any anywhere else. Has anyone got any ideas as to where I might be able to source one from?
Any halp would be greatly appreciated.
Regards

Sadly it's how they do it now - no parts for repair, just ridiculously expensive complete units. How old is it and how much is the motor? If it's blown, it's possible something got damaged in the main pcb.

The funny thing is that when all manufacturers did used to supply armatures there was a thriving third party industry selling cheaper versions of them. I'm not aware of any available for motors where the manufacturer doesn't supply them but it's theoretically possible. Back in the mid 90s we used to strip Hoover and Hotpoint washing machine motors down every day and replace any part inside. Fitting a new armature, carbon brush ring and carbon brushes used to cost £89.50 and we made a decent profit on that. A new washer at the time was around £400. It's all gone mad now and I've been complaining about it on this site and the original Washerhelp for the last 13 years. It's all about selling new machines and not keeping them running.

Hi Andy
Thanks for the reply.
Thought you might say that. Only the windings of the armature are damaged though.
I believe this "no supply of parts" from Bosch but just can't get my head around the fact that nobody sells a third party armature for it.
Makes a mockery of this "Green" world we are trying to live in.
Still as you say "thats how they do it"
