Hoover Washing Machine Doesn't Drain Water

My Hoover HW521 3M Washer dryer does not drain the water. I think it's blocked because I can hear the pump running but the drum does not drain.

The problem is I can't seem to find the pump filter (usually on the front I thought?) I dont mind taking the washing machine apart but is this the only way? And if so what is the best way to do it and where is the filter situated? Thanks for any help!

Hoover washing machines don't normally have a filter. Since Candy took them over though some of them may have. If it does, it will be behind the kick strip panel at the bottom of the washing machine. (where your feet are when stood in front of it) Carefully prize away the kickplate panel to see if there is a filter there. Be very careful as these panels are very flimsy and the tabs holding them in are brittle. There may be some slots that you can push a screwdriver in to prize the tabs away. It may be better to consult the instruction book, if your washing machine does have a hidden pump filter it should be mentioned there.

Thanks for your help, there was a filter under the front cover and it took 5 minutes to sort out.

Thanks!

Without a pump filter, a blockage could be inside the sump hose leading to the pump, or inside the pump itself. It could be inside the drain hose, or even inside the plastic connector where the drain hose connects to the sink (if connected to the sink u-bend)

Does this mean that if there is no pump filter, it can't be blocked, or that it could be blocked anywhere in the system? Is it most likely to be blocked in the pump? Will I have to go in through the back or does this have to be done by an engineer?
