Bosch Logixx 8 drainage/waste hose replacement
Hello, I need to replace the hose on my machine, but it looks like I'm going to have to drill out the rivets that are holding the back of the top on, to be able to access the unit? Is that right? Is the hose a separate piece, or part of a unit, and why have they made it so difficult just to replace the hose?

Replacing the drain hose should involve laying the machine down carefully on its front and disconnecting the drain hose from the pump. Then pulling the drain hose out of the machine. You shouldn't normally have to be drilling out any rivets for any repair that I'm aware of. Normally the drain hose will just pushed through a hole in the casing. Maybe a photo might help?

I would expect the metal plate should be removable but who knows what crazy things manufactures are doing to make their appliances less and less repairable. They've already welded their drums together, and some have welded the front panels and back panels. Normally though, even on an old machine with nothing welded and full access to all parts you wouldn't normally have to take the back panel or even lid off to replace a drain hose. Access to the pump would be from underneath.

There is a metal plate on the bottom of the machine, so I can't get access to the pump unless I remove that, or the back plate
