Hoover Dynamic Next - Filter filling
Morning all, apologies if posted in the wrong place.
I have a Hoover Dynamic Next 7kg washer, model number DXC4C47B1 I think. We had some odd smells coming from our washing so I checked the filter at the bottom left and it was full of stagnant water, nothing else. I empited it and replaced the cap, ran another wash, and it was immediately full again. I took the waste pipe off and it is emptying properly so I can't see why the filter would keep filling.
Anybody have any ideas on something else I can try to resolve?

Hoover Dynamic Next DXC4C47B1 filter area retaining water
- The problem
- The owner reported odd smells from a Hoover Dynamic Next 7kg washing machine, model DXC4C47B1, and found stagnant water in the bottom-left filter housing. After emptying it and running another wash, the filter housing filled with water again. The waste pipe was checked and reported to be draining properly.
- Likely cause
- The accepted reply states that some water remaining in the filter/pump area is normal because the pump cannot expel the final small amount. If there is significantly more than about a mugful, a partial blockage affecting pump-out was suggested as a possible cause.
- What fixed it
- No repair was confirmed. The accepted advice was that the filter housing will normally contain some water after use, so this alone does not indicate a fault. If the amount is more than a mugful, the most likely supported diagnosis is partial restriction in the drain path or pump-out system, but the exact blockage point was not confirmed.
- Checks to try
- Filter housing found full of stagnant water
- Filter housing was emptied and refilled after the next wash
- Waste pipe was removed and reported to empty properly

Hello. The filter will always be full of water, but it shouldn't have more than a mug or so of water inside. The pump just can't eject that last bit of water. If the washer is used regularly this water is constantly replaced. If there's more than a large mug full of water inside maybe it's not pumping out properly due to a partial blockage somewhere.
