Hoover dynamic next DXCC69W3 displaying rotating dashes
Machine not draining, no blockage, drain pump impeller just sitting oscillating slighlty. E03 error
Could turn drain impeller by hand but felt stiff.
Took off pump to check, looked ok, nothing at rear of impeller, felt tight/loose when rotating.
After refit & power back on the display is not normal, just like dashes going round, see attached vid.

Solution Summary
AI-generated from this discussion
This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.
Hoover Dynamic Next DXCC69W3 E03 not draining due to failed drain pump
- The problem
- The washing machine would not drain and showed E03. The drain pump impeller only oscillated slightly instead of running properly. After the pump was removed and refitted, the display briefly showed rotating dashes before later returning to normal.
- Likely cause
- Failed drain pump. The discussion notes the impeller stiffness alone was not necessarily abnormal, but the pump then worked only for a few days before failing completely.
- What fixed it
- The drain pump was replaced. This resolved the draining fault.
- Checks to try
- Checked for blockage and none was found
- Observed drain pump impeller only oscillating slightly
- Turned pump impeller by hand and found it felt stiff
- Removed pump and checked it visually, with nothing found behind the impeller
- Refitted pump and noted rotating dashes on the display
- Left machine powered on and the display later returned to normal
- Confirmed the pump worked for a few days before dying
- Parts or tools mentioned
- New drain pump
Safety: Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

Hi Mike. The true test will be if it works OK now? BTW the pump impellers are normally a little stiff. They sort of turn then suddenly free off and then go stiff again. I think it's turning through a magnet.

Left machine powered up & display had returned back to normal after a few hours?
Hi Andy,
Well the drain pump worked for a few days then died.
New one fitted & we're all good.
Cheers
Mike
