Beko Wmb71442 Whining Noise
Hi folks, this machine is only a few months old and has developed a discomforting noise. When you turn the drum by hand you hear it instantly. I know there's normally a minor noise (is it the motor or drivebelt you can hear turning?) but this is excessive. When the machine is loaded up and turning you hear it constantly. Noise pitch is dependent on spin speed, although when spinning fast it is inaudible. Sounds to me it is coming from whatever makes the drum turn, so either the motor or the drivebelt. It's a whining/electronic sound.
Funny thing is, the noise has subsided a lot since I ran it on a full cycle whilst making this noise. It seemed to wear down as the cycle went on, then for the next cycle it was a lot quieter, but still not right. I repeat, with the machine switched off, and turning the drum by hand at various speeds, the noise is replicated.
I know I can call Beko, as its only a few months old, but would rather wait till it's being loud again as they might just say it's nothing in it's current state. Seems weird the noise quietened down though.
I recorded a quick clip of when it was at its worst but its about 6MB so too big to upload.

First thing you need to do is take off the drive belt to see if the noise disappears or stays. This will eliminate one cause as when you turn the drum by hand both the drum and the motor are turning.
