BEKO WMA510 - weird high pitched noise

Hi there,

Our BEKO WMA510W Washing Machine has started making a weird high pitched noise. I've made a brief video demonstrating what I mean - I turn the drum manually to give an idea of this odd noise, but it's quite pronounced when the machine goes into it's fast end spin cycle.

We're wondering if maybe the drum needs tightened or if this sounds like it means the machine is on its way out. I've asked BEKO about through Facebook, no reply yet. It would be great if you could have a look at the video and reply with any suggestions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0phFzFIfV4s

Many thanks for your time.

It sounds like the motor. Disconnect from mains. Take off the belt and ensure it’s not catching on anything then spin the drum to see if the noise has gone or is still there. Try spinning the motor spindle too

It sounds like the noise is coming from the carbon brushes on the motor. A raised comm bar on the armature is one of the possible causes.
