Hotpoint Aquarius spring on door seal

Hi I'm new here! My washing machine has part of a spring hanging out of it at the bottom left of the door seal. Anyone know what it is? Any help would be great

Is it from the thin band that holds the door seal onto the door opening rim? The door seal fits around the door opening rim but is held securely in place sometimes with a thin metal band which is held together with a spring.
