Hotpoint Wd440 Broken Door Lock/interlock?

Hey,

I have a hotpoint wd440 and the handle snapped and in order to replace it I forced the door lock. After replacing the handle and trying to start the machine the 'door locked' light was flashing and it didn't lock or start up. After leaving it off for a while and trying to start it again only the 'wash' light illuminated and nothing happened (door didn't lock). Guessing that I may have damaged the interlock by forcing the door I replaced this as well but to no avail. As before the door does not lock, the 'wash' light illuminates and nothing happens. The machine was working fine until I broke the handle (and started messing around with it!). Is there any way for me to fix it now or is it time for a new machine?

If it's still anything to do with the door maybe the door catch mechanism isn't activating the door interlock for some reason. It sounds like it's still not registering that the door is closed. Try some wd-40 and make sure the door seal is fitted properly and that the door catch is fitted properly.
