Hotpoint Aquarious Wma56P Door Alarm Constantly On.
Hi , I have a Hotpoint Aquarious WMA56P washing machine, recently we had a power cut while the machine was going, when the power came back on the door lock light kept flashing. I have bought and fitted a new door lock module but to no avail, the problem is still there, have operated the module by hand while not connected to the front of machine, still no luck. Is there ant other part I should be looking at before I consider getting a new computer board. Any help would be very grateful.

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.
Hotpoint Aquarious WMA56P door lock light flashing after power cut
- The problem
- After a power cut during a wash cycle, the door lock/alarm light on a Hotpoint Aquarious WMA56P kept flashing continuously. The owner replaced the door lock module, but the fault remained.
- Likely cause
- The accepted reply suggests an electrical issue caused by the power cut or a surge when power failed or returned, with likely involvement of the control panel, main PCB, or both. The exact failed part was not confirmed.
- What fixed it
- Do not continue buying parts speculatively. The thread points towards a fault on the control electronics rather than the door lock itself. Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.
- Checks to try
- Power cut occurred while the machine was running
- Door lock/alarm light kept flashing afterwards
- Door lock module was replaced
- Door lock module was also operated by hand off the front of the machine
- Fault remained after fitting the new door lock module
- Parts or tools mentioned
- Door lock module
- Control panel
- Main PCB
Safety: Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

The door alarm is presumably on the control panel? It sounds like something blew or got messed up when the power cut happened, maybe there was an electrical surge when it went off or came back on? I wouldn't buy any more parts speculatively. It could need the control panel or main pcb or both.
