Hey there!

i bought a new washing machine last week, got the H wash 300 and it works great except i seem to be having real trouble getting the door to unlock after a cycle, it's almost like it doesnt register that the cycle has finished on the app which is preventing it from unlocking and allowing me to obtain my laundry

has anyone else had similar issues with the link type washing machines? is it the app or am i doing something wrong?

Solution Summary

AI-generated from this discussion

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.

Hoover H wash 300 LINK door not unlocking after cycle

The problem
A new Hoover H wash 300 LINK washing machine completed cycles but the door did not unlock as expected, leaving laundry inside. The user suspected the app might not be recognising that the cycle had finished.
Likely cause
The accepted reply says the door lock should release after a couple of minutes. If the machine still detects water inside, the lock may stay engaged. If there is no water remaining, the most likely diagnosis given was a faulty door lock.
What fixed it
Wait a couple of minutes after the cycle ends for the lock to release. Check whether water is still inside the machine, as that can prevent unlocking. If there is no water present and the door still will not open, the accepted diagnosis was a faulty door lock. The exact repair carried out was not confirmed.
Checks to try
  • Waited a couple of minutes after cycle end for the lock to release
  • Checked whether water was still inside the washing machine
Parts or tools mentioned
  • Door lock

Safety: Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

Door locks should release after a couple of minutes. Some will not open if they detect water is still inside the washing machine but if there isn't you'd have to suspect a faulty door lock.
